Dubai, UAE – In a landmark move poised to reshape the global real estate landscape, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) has formalized a strategic partnership with leading cryptocurrency platform Crypto.com. This collaboration aims to develop a cutting-edge digital investment environment for virtual real estate assets, leveraging blockchain technology and digital currencies within the emirate’s property sector.

The initiative is a keystone of Dubai’s ambitious Real Estate Strategy 2033, which envisions a smart, sustainable, and knowledge-driven real estate ecosystem, targeting an impressive AED 1 trillion in transactions by 2033. It also aligns seamlessly with the broader Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the government’s steadfast commitment to accelerating digital transformation.

Under the terms of the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), Crypto.com will propose and develop technological solutions to integrate digital currencies into real estate transactions, including innovative approaches to real estate tokenization and digital asset trading.

The Dubai Land Department will provide essential administrative and logistical support, evaluating proposals and ensuring regulatory compliance within Dubai’s legal framework. Furthermore, the Department of Finance (DOF) will facilitate the payment of government fees in cryptocurrency through Crypto.com’s UAE-regulated exchange, with immediate conversion to UAE Dirhams (AED).

This pioneering partnership is expected to significantly enhance liquidity in the real estate market, modernize transaction processes, and bolster transparency and security through immutable blockchain records. It will also open new avenues for global participation in Dubai’s thriving property sector by introducing innovative investment tools.

UAE has been at the forefront of digital asset adoption, having previously launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenization project via the ‘Prypco Mint’ platform. This new alliance with Crypto.com further solidifies Dubai’s position as a global leader in technological innovation and smart real estate investment.
